Unique Festival

The Mostra of Venice, one of the oldest film festivals in the world, celebrated its 75th anniversary in 2007, and its 64th edition (a few editions were not organized during World War II). The event of an incomparable charm is special for its friendly atmosphere and good-natured ambiance. The festival has been directed by Marco Muller since 2003, having become the most cinematic of all.

During the Mostra of Venice, the film-stars seem somehow more approachable. They willingly greet not only VIP guests, but also the entire crowds. The films presented on the festival are often extremely demanding to make and created rather for the love of cinema than with the desire to make a show.

Jaeger-LeCoultre's Participation

Being an official sponsor of the film festival, Jaeger-LeCoultre has entered the world of cinema, as a very responsible and professional and at the same time really festive and glamorous environment.

The watchmaking company takes part in the festival as a true patron of the arts. It supported the restoration of old films, having provides money to the 'Fund for Cinema'. In 2006, the brand supported the restoration of the movie 'Il Feroce Saladino.' The Italian cult movie was made in 1937, being a part of Italian cinema's patrimony.

In 2007, as a part of celebration of the Mostra festival's 75th anniversary, there was screened the restored film, 'Gli Uomini che Mascalzoni', with Vittorio De Sica, produced back in 1932. It was destined to become the first Italian film that was viewed during the very first edition of the Mostra festival.

Jaeger-LeCoultre is going to continuously support the Fund for Cinema. The brand will auction off a few models of its iconic Reverso watches. The case backs of the timepieces bear the signature of a film star. In 2007, a constellation of stars, including Catherine Deneuve, Sergio Castellito, Josh Hartnett, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Valentino Rossi, and Oliver Stone , offered their signatures.

The winners of the Mostra of Venice festival 2007 will be honored with a special edition of the Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso, featuring an engraving of the image of the Lion of Venice.

Luxurious Terrace

Jaeger-LeCoultre set up a terrace named the 'Jaeger-LeCoultre Nikki Beach', in front of the Palazzo del Cinema, the major venue of the Mostra of Venice festival. To come to the terrace the stars had just to cross the street. The luxurious terrace looks over the sea, having become the principal meeting point for the Mostra attendees.

Glamorous Event

On August 31st, the Jaeger-LeCoultre Company highlighted its presence in Venice by holding the grand soiree. The brand revealed its new collection of unique jewelry watches. It invited renowned actresses and models, Diane Kruger, Valeria Solarino, Judith Godreche, Karisma Kapoor, and Joely Richardson to join the exclusive event. All the ladies were wearing the Jaeger-LeCoultre latest creations. About 300 guests were invited to witness the unveiling of the most glamorous timekeeping collection created by Jaeger-LeCoultre.

Amazing Timepieces

Jaeger-LeCoultre La Rose and La Tulipe unveiled during the event were the timepieces that amazed everyone present. Each creation was covered with about 3,000 gems, including rubies, diamonds, tsavorites and pink or yellow sapphires. The master jewelers and watchmakers required more than 600 hours to produce the exceptional timepiece.

As indicated by their names,La Rose and La Tulipe, true works of art, are beautiful reproductions of two flowers. Every detail of the timepieces - their forms, curves, colored nuances of the corolla, petals, and stems, feature utmost delicacy and refinement. The jewelry creations completely embrace the wrist with an absolutely invisible clasp. The 'flowers' are powered by a manual-winding Calibre 846. However, you will not see the winding crown as it is hidden.
