Data: Oct 09, 2007

The art of Haute Horlogerie will be exclusively presented in Rome and the Palazzo Incontro during a unique exhibition of vintage models and most recent creations. The exhibition will be open to the public from October 1st to 6th, 2007.

The event is organized by the FHH (Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie) together with the Provincia di Roma and AD (Architectural Digest) magazine. Fourteen prestigious brands from the field of technical and precious watchmaking have been invited to take part in the event.

Rome will officially open the doors to the fascinating world of watchmaking with the exhibition inauguration, scheduled to take place on Monday October 1st at 5pm, at the Palazzo Incontro, the Provincia di Roma headquarters.

For a week time, the City of Caesar will be the Haute Horlogerie Capital and the most well-known watch brands will exhibit their latest timekeeping creations on the Palazzo Incontro's first and second floors . The list of brands includes Officine Panerai, Cartier, A. Lange & Söhne, IWC, Audemars Piguet, Baume & Mercier, Montblanc, Parmigiani Fleurier, Girard-Perregaux, Jaeger-LeCoultre, JeanRichard, Piaget, Roger Dubuis, and Vacheron Constantin.

The FHH will hold an exhibition that was initially organized in Geneva in 2005, at the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie, devoted to the universal theme of the chronograph.

On the ground floor, "The chronograph, an expression of the modern era"will display 70 one-of-a-kind timepieces, including such historically important pieces as the first chronograph by Rieussec, dated 1821. The exhibits are loaned by the brands listed above as well as Daniel Roth, Gerald Genta and the leading Swiss watchmaking museums: Musee de l'horlogerie et de l'emaillerie in Geneva, Chateau-des-Monts and Musee d'Horlogerie Beyer in Zurich, Musee international d'horlogerie in La Chaux-de-Fonds, and Musee d'Horlogerie in Le Locle.

The city of Rome will live watches throughout the first week of October, holding talks on complicated mechanisms, theoretical and practical workshops, providing every visitor with a unique chance to take apart and assemble a movement.
